WELCOME TO WONDERFUL PALM CITY
After growing up in the City of Philadelphia, I couldn´t take another winter!! So, 18 years ago, my husband, daughter and I moved to the Florida Keys. After living there for 7 years...fishing, boating, and serving constant guests at what seemed like my very own "bed and breakfast", we opted out of the "dream life-style" to move to Miami. After 2 years and my daughter´s high school graduation3;.we had our choice to live anywhere!! So...deciding to find "THE PERFECT PLACE", we drove up the west coast of Florida and down the east coast! And...after much looking, searching and sore butts from sitting in the car for 2 weeks, we found "PALM CITY"!! What a lucky day that was for us!!
Palm City is located in Florida´s beautiful "Treasure Coast"3;.30 minutes north of West Palm Beach, 20 minutes north of Jupiter and Hobe Sound, 40 minutes south of Vero Beach and westerly over the Palm City Bridge from charming, adorable Stuart.
WHY SHOULD YOU MOVE TO MARTIN COUNTY´S PALM CITY???
WHAT MAKES IT SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE??
THE PEOPLE!! Shop at our local Publix Supermarket and be impressed when the baggers carry your bags to the car...they´ll even give you a hug if you desire!! Sit at a local restaurant and speak to the person at the next table!! But..caution!! Don´t try that in some other towns in South Florida!! You´ll find the people here warm and friendly!
Palm City is a family oriented community. Neighbors are comprised of all age groups. Our award winning "A+" school system helps to maintain property values. In the year 2000 total population was 20,097 with 8100 being over 55. There are many sports, dance and scout activities for our children. A plethora of parks in our small 9648-acre community offer everything from fairs to little league, soccer, football, etc. A skate-board park was added last year. The possibilities are endless for all. Anything your heart desires, is here: golfing, boating, being the Sailfish Capital of the World...our fishing is superb, tennis, painting, mah jong, bridge...you name it...we have it! And...downtown Stuart is always a treat...local theater, galleries, fairs, art shows, shopping and fine eateries!! It´s fun to bring family and guests to this quaint, adorable spot!
THE PERFECT LOCATION!! Close to I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. Small town living...offering everything that you´d possibly need or want, including beaches, restaurants and fine hospitals. A place where you´ll enjoy peace and tranquility. If it´s city life you require3;it´s a short 30 minute jaunt to The Kravis Center Theater in West Palm Beach, major shopping malls and the West Palm Beach International Airport. But..best of all...Mickey Mouse and Disneyland are only 120 miles north...a 2 1/2 hour drive and you´ll be on the Tower of Terror, enjoying dinner in Epcot Center, visiting with the stars in MGM or visiting Universals "Islands of Adventure"!
WEATHER!! Brrrrrrrrr...it was cold today!! It´s November and it was 60 degrees when I left my house this morning...yep!! That´s why I left Philadelphia!!
NEIGHBORHOODS!! Many of our communities are gated but there are just as many that are not. If you desire green and spacious areas visit Evergreen, a beautiful tree-lined community. There are those offering waterfront with ocean and river access, meandering golf courses, or community clubhouses and pools. Some with all of the above! There are those that offer condos, townhouses and single family homes3;.many with acreage! Prices range from $100000-over $1,000,000. There´s a home style and price for everyone! Crime??? Not here!!
TAXES AND INSURANCE!! Martin County is proud that our tax base is much lower than the surrounding areas of West Palm and Port St. Lucie...especially if you are a Florida resident and "Homestead" your property. Once "Homestead"-ed, you will receive a credit on your taxes. Please click http://paoweb.martin.fl.us/ put in a sales amount and whether the property will have "Homestead" exemption and see an approximation of what annual taxes will be3;.sometimes a little higher than it actually will be.
Insurance is sometimes an issue because people hear that Florida insurance is so high! Well, let me tell you...it has come down considerably!! My home was built in 1978, it is of frame construction with a shake roof, 2900 s/f of living space and my annual insurance is $1500.00. Insurance would be even less on a home built of concrete block construction. Flood insurance is minimal and worth having.
Well??? Have I convinced you of how fabulous it is to live in Palm City? If not...we surely have wonderful surrounding communities in beautiful Martin County3;.Hobe Sound, Stuart and Jensen Beach are great places to live as well!! Hutchinson Island is located directly on the beach with fantastic ocean views!! I´d be happy to send you information on any of these wonderful areas!!
