As you drive east on Ocean Boulevard in Stuart, Florida...over the two newly completed bridges and enjoy the scenic River and Intracoastal Waterway views, you will feel an instant uplift. The crystal clear water, the people fishing in the picnic areas and the boats on each side of the bridge is your clue that you have arrived in beautiful Hutchinson Island.

Hutchinson Island is a quiet, quaint, barrier island, which is actually located in two counties, Martin County and St. Lucie County. Here you will enjoy the pleasures of beachcombing on miles of beautiful sandy beaches, swimming, surfing, jet skiing, boating, snorkeling and more.
There are also several top-notch golf courses in the area.
One of my favorite beaches on Hutchinson Island is Bathtub Reef Park. Here children can swim and snorkel in shallow areas that are sheltered from the ocean by a protective reef. There are lifeguards, showers, restrooms and picnic shelters at the park as well.
The Atlantic beaches are especially exciting and fun in the evenings between April and August when the turtles come to nest.
The Elliott Museum is another fun spot on Hutchinson Island. Here families explore a bygone lifestyle. It is shown how ingenuity has affected how we live, shop, work and travel. You'll be surprised by the collections in this museum. They include life-size dioramas, vintage clothing and memorabilia, early inventions and an outsandin array of antique automobiles and baseball memorabilia.
A quick jaunt over the causeway and you'll arrive in Jensen Beach, known for its fun-filled "Pineapple Festival". In this quaint town you'll enjoy shopping, galleries... (those featuring local artists as well), fine dining, nightlife and
Kilwin's yummy ice cream and chocolate shoppe. Definitely my favorite!!
